The Fígaro Awards 2023 register one of the best participation rates in their history: more firms and more collections, both national and international!
The Spanish Creative Hairdressing Awards reaffirm their status as a benchmark in our country, with a total of 177 submitted nominations from 81 different firms. International participation has also increased, with 37 collections, and the new category of Spanish Student of the Year has made a grand debut with 28 nominations.
The Fígaro Awards are preparing for one of their most competitive and exciting galas, thanks to the huge participation recorded in this 14th edition, which is one of the top three in its history. In total, 177 entries were submitted by 81 different firms, an increase of 30.88% compared to the previous edition.
The category with the highest participation once again is the Women's Commercial Collection with 53 collections submitted, 10 more than in 2022. It is followed by the International Category with 37 collections, 13 more than the previous year, which consolidates this competition as one of the most prestigious in the industry worldwide.
The debut of the new category, Spanish Student of the Year, has also been notable. It seeks to highlight the work of Spanish training centers and the effort they put into preparing the future talents of hairdressing. 28 applicants from across Spain have participated, from whom 10 pre-nominees have been selected.
The remaining entries are divided as follows: 24 in the Men's Commercial Collection, 18 in the Avant-Garde Collection, 9 in the Newcomer of the Year category and 8 in the Spanish Hairdresser of the Year category, the main category of the competition in which it is only possible to enter with one pre-nomination. It is worth mentioning that all the finalist collections will also participate in the Fígaro Catwalk category, which recognises the overall staging.
The Fígaro Awards gala will be held on Monday 6 November 2023, coinciding with the new dates announced by our official partner Salón Look IFEMA MADRID.
