The Best Hair Color Trends in 2020

Do you follow the latest trends in hair coloring? Do you want to know the hits of the upcoming seasons? You don't know what are all of those mysterious terms like twilighting, tweed hair, warm amber or chunky highlights?

Let us explain! Most of these 2020 trends just made a comeback, mostly from the 90s. Warm variations of balayage or highlights reappear in fashion from time to time and they refresh the hairdressing offers.

Hair Color Trends That Will Matter in 2020

2020 hair color trends are mostly a comeback of warm, natural shades and characteristic contrasts in a form of hair strands applied from the roots, as well as balayage that was replaced by ombré and sombre in the recent years.

Twilighting is a color inspired by golden colors of the sky you can see during a sunset. Stylists called it the color of 2020. The author of the trend is a hair stylist from Maxine Salon in Chicago, Karissa Schaudt. In her opinion, the shade is like balayage, but more subtle and natural. How to do such hair coloring? This hairstyle is perfect for dark hair and brunettes. Just make warm strands 2-3 tons lighter than your current hair color. You can definitely get inspired by Beyonce’s or Miranda Kerr’s hair color.

Tweed hair is a very natural hair color, based on a delicate combination of several similar shades. Reflections should look like a natural result of hair exposure to the sun. This color will suit blondes, brunettes and redheads.

Warm Amber is a warm, amber shade that looks extremely natural.  It suits every skin tone. It is easy to maintain. It often combines warm shades of red, blond and brown.

Chunky highlights are a great return of highlights from the 90s. It's all about getting the contrast between lighter and darker bands. Remember though that the effect should not be an exact reproduction of what we remember from two decades ago. These highlights are visible but not overwhelming. They don't have to be applied right from the root, and the contrast should be a little more subtle.
